A SHPO can be made following a caution for, or conviction of, a relevant offence, or a finding equivalent to a finding that the person is not guilty by reason of insanity, or a finding equivalent to a finding that the person is under a disability and did the act. The relevant offences are listed in schedules to the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
