Punch Robson, Stockton-on-Tees - Mental Health Solicitor (listed until 20/5/22)

Mental Health Solicitor Vacancy

We are looking for a full-time Mental Health Accreditation Scheme panel member, preferably a solicitor, to join our team and effectively manage the Mental Health and Court of Protection department to cover a period of maternity leave with prospects of remaining at the firm long term.

It is essential you are a member of the Mental Health Accreditation Scheme as your role will include representation at Mental Health Tribunal hearings. You will be expected to assist clients from inception to completion, providing thorough advice and support throughout.

You will also be expected to take over a number of Section 21A appeals in the Court of Protection and also have knowledge of CCMS.

In order to step into this role the ideal candidate must be highly driven and conscientious.

This is an incredibly rare opportunity to work for a medium-sized firm who have worked in the area of mental health for many years. We are proud of the level of care we give our clients and the personalised and specialist legal advice and support we offer. You will have a high level of responsibility and work alongside partners of the firm. Non-solicitor applicants with the appropriate panel membership will be considered, and a part-time position may be available.

You will need excellent IT skills and be able to adapt to using the firm's dictation and case management system. You will have secretarial support but be expected to maintain a high level of file management to keep in line with the Legal Aid Agency rules.

Competitive salary dependent upon experience.
