Simpson Millar, London/Manchester/Leeds - Court of Protection (Health and Welfare) Solicitor (listed until 5/7/22)

Our Court of Protection team here at Simpson Millar is nationally recognised and seen as one of the strongest teams with the most dedicated solicitors in the country. We’re currently looking for an experienced COP Solicitor (ideally 3+ years’ PQE) to join our contentious Health and Welfare team in either London, Manchester or Leeds (wherever suits you best).

Why work for us?

Life at Simpson Millar offers you the chance to work in a welcoming, friendly firm with teams of people who enjoy working together to make a difference to our clients. Our Public Law team has many Chambers and Legal 500 recognised solicitors who will work with you to help develop your career. You'll get exposure to high quality, challenging work and get hands on experience from day one whilst working within a supportive and grown-up environment where you’ll be encouraged to use all of your talents in order to achieve the best results for our clients.

And what type of person are we looking for?

You understand that because of the nature of the types of clients we deal with that the role will need someone with empathy and an ability to work with the most vulnerable of clients. You’ll need to have an understanding of funding streams for packages of care including continuing health care and local authority funding.

You’ll be able to manage a high volume caseload across a variety of matters and clearly you’ll work in a compliant and efficient manner. For the more senior employees, you’ll also have the opportunity to supervise the casework of more junior staff in the team.

Anyone with links to referrers of Court of Protection work would be seen as an added bonus, but it’s not essential so don’t let it put you off applying. What’s important is you have a detailed knowledge of Court of Protection work and the right attitude and personality to provide a high quality of advice within this dedicated area of law.

And in return?

We offer a competitive salary between £34,000 - £42,000 (dependent on experience) and in addition 27 days holiday (plus bank holidays), Life assurance and permanent working from home but with the option to come into the office when suits for clients etc.

If this sounds like something you’d like to explore then please get in touch, initially by sending a copy of your CV, and then one of our recruitment team will contact you direct. Email: Peter Murphy <Peter.Murphy@Simpsonmillarcareers.com>
