First paragraph of explanatory note: "These Regulations, which are to come into force on 1st April 2010, are made under the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and prescribe the kinds of activities that will be regulated activities for the purposes of Part 1 of the Act, and the requirements that will apply in relation to the way in which those activities are carried on. Part 1 of the Act establishes the Care Quality Commission and provides for the registration of persons carrying on a prescribed regulated activity. It also provides powers to make regulations imposing requirements in relation to the carrying on of those regulated activities."
