Mental health and mental capacity fee earner - ODonnells Solicitors, Preston
We specialise in mental health and mental capacity law covering the Court of Protection and Mental Health Tribunals and have been at the forefront in developing the law on deprivation of liberty in the Supreme Court and Court of Appeal. Our reputation is excellent. Our client satisfaction is high.
We are looking for a suitably experienced fee earner (solicitor/legal executive) who knows that hard work is needed to survive in business. Dedication to breaking the stigma of mental disorder and to protect the rights of the vulnerable is essential. Membership of the MH Panel is considered useful, but not essential.
Excellent verbal, written and analytical skills are required. The law is complex and we are extremely busy but the professional rewards are enormous if you share our vocation.
We have no lifts in our building, the stairs are relatively narrow and the nearest car park is 100 yards away. Considerable travel will be involved throughout the North of England to residences in the community, courts and hospitals (including secure units). It follows that a degree of mobility is needed but we do not discriminate in any way whatever. If you are the best person for our clients, we want to hear from you.
The focus is on the experience of clients, not the status of the staff. We have a growing caseload of Court of Protection welfare work which will require the right attitude, aptitude and ability.
This is a position for a fee earner with existing experience but we will build on your skills. The pace of progress is up to you. Salary is negotiable depending on experience.
Will be at our office in Preston. Reasonable travelling expenses will be re-imbursed.
Application by Friday 14th November.
By email to firstname.lastname@example.org, marked for the attention of Debbie Lawton. Please attach your CV and say where you would like to be professionally in 3 years' time. Please quote reference MHLO.
